Lyft and San Diego LGBT Community Center Begin Year-long Partnership at Pride 2018 with MO’s Universe
Partnership to Raise Funds for the LGBTQ Community; Support the LGBT Center
SAN DIEGO (July 2, 2018) – In celebration of San Diego Pride, Lyft, the fastest growing rideshare company in the U.S., has partnered with the San Diego LGBT Community Center and popular LGBTQ restaurant group, MO’s Universe.
For every “Lyft Pink Flamingo” specialty cocktail purchased at a MO’s Universe location during the Pride 2018 weekend, Lyft will donate $1 to the San Diego LGBT Community Center. The Lyft Pink Flamingo drink will be available at every MO’s Universe location, including Urban MO’s Bar & Grill, Baja Betty’s, Gossip Grill, Hillcrest Brewing Company and insideOUT, from July 13-15. Pride attendees are encouraged to use Lyft to ensure they travel safely and responsibly to and from the event.
“Urban MO’s continues to be a Lyft passenger favorite and was one of the top drop-off destinations in San Diego for 2017,” said Lyft San Diego Market Manager Hao Meng. “We are proud to support the LGBT community, and encourage everyone attending Pride to get there – and home – by using Lyft.”
In addition to the “Lyft Pink Flamingo” drink, Lyft will offer Pride-themed rides and giveaways. First-time passengers can also enjoy a special $5 discount on their first two rides with the code UNIVERSE1. To show their dedication to the LGBTQ community and “Pride On,” Lyft employees and the San Diego LGBT Community Center will walk together in the Pride parade.
And, the Lyft and the San Diego LGBT Community Center partnership will continue after Pride.
“In partnership with Lyft, we plan on promoting equal rights for the LGBT community and making support more accessible than before,” said Ian Johnson, director of development for the San Diego LGBT Community Center. “With Lyft as a rideshare partner of the San Diego LGBT Community Center, our events will feature exclusive Lyft offers for a reliable transportation option.”
Future collaborative events will include the AIDS Walk & Run and Dining Out for Life® San Diego.
Lyft was founded in June 2012 by Logan Green and John Zimmer to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation. Lyft is the fastest growing rideshare company in the U.S. and is available to 95 percent of the U.S. population as well as in Ontario, Canada. Lyft is preferred by drivers and passengers for its safe and friendly experience, and its commitment to effecting positive change for the future of our cities.
